We actually just went through this effort fairly successfully.
There are a number of different approaches, ranging from setting up a
new company (with no history), to converting in place.
We actually went from an April-March FY 2010 ending in 2010 to a
January-December FY 2010 starting in 2010. In effect, reusing FY2010
because that was the year our new parent company was in. This included
quite a bit of data conversion as well.
Feel free to contact me off-list if you would like to discuss.

Subject: [SYSTEM21] Changing Financial Year
Dear All,
We have been using JBA Financials, Purchase Management, Sales &
Inventory
for the past 10 years with Financial Year from January to December.
Now we have been told that the Financial Year will be from July to June.
This means that exceptionally this year will be from January to June
2010;
and Financial Year 2011 will start in July 2010 to end June 2011.
We have not yet realised the implications. We are planning to bo through
infobase and create a test company. If anyone has gone through this
situation before and would like to share their experience.
Rgds,
Guy
