Has anyone moved to OS400 V6R1 with System 21 3.5.2 SP3 or below?

I've started to look into it and it looks like it's going to be a
challenge.

I'm at V5R4 of the iSeries O/S. I ran the IBM ANZOBJCVN command which
is a great tool to give you a feel of what you need to do to get to
V6R1. It lists over 3,400, out of 7,200, System 21 programs/objects
that will not convert, as part of the upgrade process, and they need to
be recompiled prior to moving to V6R1 or they will not work.

At System 21 SP4 and above Infor is going to supply the fixes for these
objects but at SP3 and below it is going to be a manual process for most
of the objects.

I received the new version of System Manager from Infor the other day
and the upgrade to it looks pretty straight forward (if you don't read
the instructions that comes with the CD). Rename the IPG libraries,
install the new ones, and move all of the old data areas into the new
IPG libs. This will fix the System Manager objects and allow it to run
at V6R1 and is free if you have maintenance.

However, the remaining objects are in the application libraries and
compiling these looks to be a challenge. We have the Abstract tool from
Help Systems that allows us to do mass compiles. But, the first small
library I was going to attempt to do has CL programs that need run to
create the RPG programs.

Also, as most of you know, most of the existing programs/objects that
you received, when you installed the applications, used the source from
some library that we did not get so you hope that the programmer at JBA
or Geac or wherever used the same code that we are supplied on our
OSLXXS3 source libraries.

For example, take a look at the inventory stockroom maintenance program,
which is one of the programs that the ANZOBJCVN report says will not
convert to V6R1, by doing a DSPOBJD OSLINP3/IN003 *PGM and taking an
option 8. My source file library states this was compiled from a
library called OSL352X3. I never had this library but I now need to
recompile this from the OSLINS3 source and thousands of others like it.
Pretty scary.

I've only put an hour or two into this and I think I've just scratched
the surface.

Any Guinea pigs out there? (Hope those of you outside the US know what
this means)

Have a good weekend.
