Bob, The S21 costing has many facets. Inventory has 3 set values Material, Standard, and Latest. The Latest Cost field in inventory is updated by transactions of receipts into inventory. Receipts to different stockrooms may be set as different values if the cost on the purchase order or of the transaction is different from other receipts. The Standard Cost field in Inventory is update at initialization of a stockroom or by Standard Cost Transfer (4/MDC) When you run the 4/MDC option, you may elect to: 1. Update only Item stockroom records with out a cost, in which you may have a stockroom with different value that will not get updated. 2. Update only the Primary Store Stockroom 3. Update only the Primary Store Stockrooms that are Zero. Either of the above options could create deviation in the Inventory Standard cost values. To insure the 11/MDM cost value is the same in all stockrooms, When you run 4/MDC to put your rolled up costs into Inventory, Be sure you have "Items without costs" = "0" and "Primary Stock room only" "0" Fred -----Original Message----- From: system21-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:system21-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Bob Chambers Sent: Tuesday, January 31, 2006 1:47 PM To: 'SYSTEM21@xxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [SYSTEM21] 2/MDM not the same as 11/MDC We did a cost roll and have found out through some research that some costs that are in 2/MDM are not the same as what is in 11/MDC. >From what I remember, when the cost roll is done, it takes the primary stockroom cost (from 3/MDM) and puts it in 11/MDC. Then I believe that there is another option that will take the costs that are in 2/MDM for the primary stockroom and make them the same for any other stockroom the item is in. Does anyone have suggestions on where I can look to see why some costs are not the same? Bob Chambers I.S.
