Don't forget to take out inventory, change the uom, and then put the

Hi Margaret

This is a common problem. There are two possible solutions that I have used
in different instances. Both have drawbacks, but these are often outweighed
by the advantages.

1. If you can delete ALL the stock movements against this item in all
stockrooms, you can then edit the item master. Although you lose history,
there is no forcing of the system.

2. You can alter the purchasing unit in the stockrooms (INP60) at any time.
Ensure there are NO outstanding purchase orders and dfu the PUNT35 field in
INP35. This will cause problems when viewing history in inventory and
purchasing, but as long as users are aware of this, it is OK.
