Not sure if you know anything about consolidation or not but basically what you are wanting to do is a consolidation with currency translation. What you need to do is as follow: Define the consolidation company relationship using F10 on the 3rd screen of the G/L company maintenance. If you are using the same accounts you will not have to map the accounts but you cannot post to target accounts that are post inhibited so you need to determine how to set that up. You will need to decide whether any subledgers will be consolidated/translated or whether you just want high level accounts. You need to also decide on the rate codes to use in the translation. There are accounting rules involved here so you will need to get input from your accounting staff. The first consolidation/translation will post year/balance to date and will thereafter need to be posted month by month. You can run the option more than once a month but you cannot go backwards in time. In conclusion, if you know consolidation, you will need to get some assistance on the accounting aspects, otherwise you may want to contact Geac for some help. I would like to know if ther is an existing feature in S21 where we can translate all source transactions to a target company. We tried using 31/GLC but got a report with a message 'No translation journal was required'. What setups required at company level and COA level? Please advise. Thanks.
