Mona,

You can apply PTFs even if you have Custom code. The
Standard Package code should never be changed in the
System/21 library. All changes MUST be copied to a
Custom library, that sits on the top of your library
list, prior to being changed. If you've done your
custom code this way then you just need to make sure
your custom code is compatible with the PTFs you're
about to load. If you've changed System/21 code in
the vanilla library then you're in a bit of trouble.

This is not a project for the faint of heart. The
fact that you are asking these questions indicates
that you are not prepared to tackle this yourself.

You should give serious consideration to having a
consultant do this for you. Especially if you are
running any bespoke code. Which your question
indicates you are. You need to make sure it is someone
who has done it before.

Even your custom reports may be adversely affected by
the PTF application process. Analysis/retrofitting of
your Custom and Bespoke code will be required as a
preliminary step to actually applying the PTFs.

This is not a small project. This is a mission
critical task that, if done properly, will have a
written project plan with clearly defined steps and
goals. If done improperly this could have a serious
impact on the operation of your business. You need to
be able to restore your system if something goes
wrong. You should let Geac support know when you plan
to do the PTF load so they will be prepared to support
your project which will typically be done during off
hours. You need to allocate enough system down time
to save the system, load the PTFs, recompile the
Custom/Bespoke code, test the system, etc.

I'm sure there are some very competent folks lurking
out there right now who will be responding to you
privately. I don't know if you are located in
Singapore or the Philippines. But I'm sure there are
consultants with adventure in their hearts that would
love an all expense paid trip to either destination.

How far behind are you?
Are you migrating to Aurora?
