Another option ... if your shop can afford it ... Our system is split in several logical partitions (LPARs). S21 uses two of them, one for PROD another for QUALITY (TEST). Their image is absolutely identical, so we can test GEAC jobs as much as we want in QUALITY, without affecting in any way the PROD env. You can count multiple benefits of this architecture, from license duplication (being a partition you use the same old licenses) to CPU optimization, from OS upgrades to S21 uplifts & SP, from security issues to policy compliance, from development control to ease of refreshes, and so on. The only drawback I see on this scenario is your need of a decent system to be able to split it and do it all. _______________________________________________ Andrei Centea AS/400 admin Sara Lee Branded Apparel of Canada (Canadelle) Montreal 514-723-8428 "Diana Larsson" <dlarsson@ardencom To: "'System 21 Users'" <system21@xxxxxxxxxxxx> panies.com> cc: Sent by: Subject: RE: [SYSTEM21] Test Envirnoment system21-bounces@m idrange.com 2004-07-12 14:53 Please respond to System 21 Users We only duplicated the objects that we needed to. Rather than creating a bunch of new libraries for each environment (and then adding them all to the library lists which were maxing out in space already), we placed all of these objects for the environment in a single library called something like OSLTEST or OSLDEV (We had both for a while). You will need to add this library to each library list in the environment. =========================================== Cet envoi est réservé à l'usage exclusif du destinataire.
