In 3/MDM I am trying to change an item type from 'M' to 'P'

Upon pressing Enter I get a message that says "Route defined for this item -
F14 to accept."

Upon F14'ing I am taken to the next screen where I am to press F8 to update.
However at this point I get the message ... "UMS0121 Schedule Control only
valid for Production Items (Item Type 'M')".

What do I need to do to be able to change this item type? Would there be
negative repercussions doing so?

Thank you...

Alan
