Gilbert,

Just to be clear - I have a time-certain of 4:00 AM for my RUNADSJOB entry in my ADE list and it is SUBMITTED...

Scheduling a job for a time-certain and SUBMITTING it are not mutually exclusive conditions...

As you say you are IPLing once a week you probably will encounter any problems with the JOBSCH job Call Stack growing too deep... Nor will your job logs get too large...

And if you're not having trouble with mid-day IPLs then you probably are not motivated to make a change... "If it's not broke don't fix it..." I certainly can understand that mind set...

But maybe someday down the road, perhaps the jobs you run in the ADS will change and you might experience the problem that started this thread... If not you then perhaps the person who comes after you...

Just so we're all clear that the JOBSCH job cannot delete itself the way it was designed to when the RUNADSJOB command is run "Interactively in the JobSchedluer jobstream" it must be SUBMITTED... Also be sure to submit it to a multi-threaded jobq...

Seasons Greetings...

Hello everyone ,
Wish to show how we have setup MM . Daily backups and weekly IPL managed
outside of MM . This result from a mix of advice from some knowledgeable
JBA contact in 1998 and inhouse experimentations. Please note that Day
start is not submitted , but has a schedule time. Even in case of forced
IPL during the day , we never encounter issues with MM .
Season's greetings to you all .
