We also switched from leased line to SDSL with Netscreen and VPN SDSL 2mbit/2mbit for only Euro 199,- (Holland) per site We also have a centralized mail server. The Netscreen also does provide traffic shapping, so you can prioritise all intteractive trafic Roland Biemans ----- Original Message ----- From: Angus Appleby To: System 21 Users Sent: Wednesday, July 02, 2003 2:18 PM Subject: Re: [SYSTEM21] System 21 & VPN Hi Jon Funnily enough, we are about to go the other way, mainly due to the speed of our ADSL link, which we can only get running at 512Kb. We have linked two firewalls together to create a VPN between our distribution centre (in Essex) and our London Head Office. It works well, the line has been robust, with no apparent security problems. If we were to link in additional distribution centres, VPN is the way I would probably go. The main alternative to this appears to be a VPN, does anybody else currently use a VPN to communicate between different sites and if so how secure is the solution. regards Jon Jon Wadey IT Manager M & S Toiletries Ltd Tel :- (+44) 1506 835600 Fax :- (+44) 1506 835609 ************************************************************************************ This E-mail message, including any attachments, is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed, and may contain confidential information.
