Absolutely you should take down the background jobs each night, if for no other reason then to let the save start... And end them all not just OSLMJ...

There also used to be a problem with the date not rolling over at midnight and that may still be a problem for you... I don't know if it was ever fixed and if so what version the fix came out in...

That should solve your problem...
