Dear Dan,

It is possible to also set the error indicator on the action you are taking,
it is the low position and is set on when there is a problem. it is possible
to check the return codes in the error handling routines but you would find
it difficult to return to the correct part of your code. If you set the
error indicator you can take what ever action you wish by checking its state
immediately after the attempted Record retrieval. If it is a sequential read
I cannot remember if the file pointer is lost, if it is then file
positioning would need to be part of this recovery process.

Best regards
