Hey Doug,

Are you having problems? We are at V4R5 and considering migrating. Am i
going to deduct 10 years off my life expectancy if we do?

Does anyone out there have experience with setting up JBA Explorer (June
1999 release, build 1.3.2) "sticky fields" using JBA Designer. If so, may
we please speak off-line, at you convenience?

We are trying to find a simple way to build an integrated Customer Service
inquiry function with as little programming as possible.

Does anyone out there have experience with setting up JBA Explorer
(September 2000 release, build 6.5.1) "sticky fields" to pass data between
task windows? If so, would you please contact me off-line, at your
convenience. We would like to create a multitask Customer Service inquiry.
Thank you.

We have just recently upgraded to JBA Explorer Sept 2001 (build 6.5.2) and
found that some of the parameters that were held in the JBASMG.INI file our
now held locally on the user's PC.

To set the 'sticky' field 'on' go into JBA Explorer on the user's PC. Click
on the Options menu, then Preferences, click on the Screen tab and tick the
Recognition and Reformatting box, then re-start JBA Explorer. If this works
for you, the down side is that you have to set this locally on every users
PC (we had 140+ users over 5 sites and we still more to do).

Ps there are other parameters that need to be set locally in the preferences
menu, including action list refresh times..

Good luck

When you say, "...integrated Customer Service inquiry function...", do you
mean
look at a customer across all company numbers...?
That is something we are interested in as well...

As Sam's story indicates a central "programmatic" solution may prove less
trouble and easier to maintain in the long run...
Using any of those nifty features in Exploder may come back to bite you
if/when
you decide to upgrade to the next version of Exploder...
Everybody hates having to have a mods library but sometimes it's just the
most
elegant solution...
Either way it sounds like a "sticky" situation...!!! ;)

Good luck.

Let me take this opportunity to wish everyone around the globe a happy and
prosperous new year...!!!

Peace.
