We are on V3.5.2 and you can assign a 'ZZZ' price type to the item master file (that's 2/DIM in Drinks, I believe it's 2/INM in Standard). That way an item is always zero-priced. It can be overridden at the order entry level. CAUTION: The sequencing is important. If you have the item on a price list that is sequenced lower than ZZZ (in the price type profile) it may use that price. I take it from your statement below that you will never have this item on a price list. ---------------------- WW (Bill) Trask Hensley & Company 623-245-7921 -----Original Message----- From: Dan Thomas [mailto:dthomas@mdimail.net] Sent: Wednesday, October 16, 2002 1:06 PM To: 'jbausers-l@midrange.com' Subject: RE: [SYS21] Free of Charge Items On a related note, I'm curious if anyone using Advanced pricing has successfully set up free items on a price list (really price type profile). The system does not accept a price of zero. You can enter a price of .00001 and unit conversion of 9999 which effectively makes most items free. You can force a zero price in AOE by specifying price type profile 'ZZZ', but what I'm asking about is having a particular item that is always free for a particular customer. We are on version v3.50. I vaguely recall this might have been addressed in a later release. We created a price list, set it as the default list. We then copied that price list named it FOC with all items at zero. We override the order header with the FOC price list or at the line item. Price lists work really well and can be updated as needed. We usually copy the price list for the next year and up date the prices in the new list. We use a naming convention as 99U (year 99 USA prices) etc. Mex Davis MIS Manager Bekum America Corp. -----Original Message----- From: jbausers-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:jbausers-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Neil Thursby Sent: Wednesday, October 16, 2002 4:50 AM To: jbausers-l@midrange.com Subject: [SYS21] Free of Charge Items Anyone know the easiest way to handle FOC items in SOP using Standard Pricing please? Simply, we ship an item on most orders that is FOC, but if the operator forgets to put "FOC" as the price list for that order line, the resulting Invoice gets "held for pricing". Is there any way to set the default price list for an item?
