  • Subject: JBA issue: MRP and MPS calculations
  • From: "Hart, Darlene" <dhart@xxxxxxxxxx>

Our production process is polymer based therefore the actual completed
quantity for an operation on a work order may vary in length from the
scheduled quantity due to multiple factors. At this point in time the MRP
and MSP is basing demand on the scheduled quantity not the actual quantity
completed in the previous operation, skewing the required inputs for the
remaining operations. Example of an item with operations 10,20,30 and 40,
operation 10 has a scheduled qty of 1000 yds yet due to running a thinner
gauge the operation produced 1200 yds. The next operation, which is 20,
still shows the scheduled qty as 1000 yds therefore the input items called
for in operation 20 are based on 1000 yds which means that the material
called by MPS is short by 200 yds. Does anyone else experience this issue??
