We had that problem too with that exact file...
It happened on a weekend when we did a OS/400 version upgrade...
We had 15 plants fully implemented and suddenly none of the several hundred
PC's we had deployed could communicate with the AS/400...

Several emergency phone calls later and a corporate wide e-mail with that
file attached and the Monday morning crisis was averted...

I believe that was version 3.5.2i of JBA Explorer at that time...

We're currently sitting on the June 1999 edition - I'm waiting for August
2000 edition to become GA...

Users and clean-up software have a habit of deleting things they are not
supposed to. We had a problem launching Explorer at all when we started in
1998 until we got a corrected version of a file called jvnnm1d.dll. Once we
got that our comm errors disappeared.

We found what the error was: the file JBASMG.INI was missing from folder
JBASYS21. This is the file that has the configuration in it. As soon as
we
copied this over from another PC it worked.
