Joe's point is a good one, however after about 10 months of month-end-Sunday-nights staying up well past midnight to close inventory for 15 plants I was motivated to automate the month-end close as well... You do need to be vigilant about monitoring the close to insure that every companies calendar is advanced correctly... You will have no end of misery if you have transactions posted to the wrong period... Yuck...!!! We wrote a fairly sophisticated routine that encompasses all of the inventory month-end-close into one large routine that we can schedule in Machine Manager... I am sorry that I cannot share the code for this with you as it has much hard-coding that is proprietary to our unique configuration... I still do the year end close manually even though it can be scheduled... I don't mind staying up late once a year... I do appreciate your desire to automate the month-end close, however it will take a custom solution... Good luck. Inventories must be properly reviewed for Negatives, Adjustments, Cycle Counts, etc. This is a critical function that should be handled manually, (not to mention year end as well). -----Original Message----- From: Ian Merritt [mailto:Ian.Merritt@dyson.com] Sent: Tuesday, November 07, 2000 6:40 AM To: 'JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com' Subject: Month End Processing Hello Does anyone know how to run 2/INC (Inventory Month end update) within Machine Manager. As there is no batch program to perform MM does not accept it. The Interactive CL initially calls the Inventory Movement Valuation Report followed by IN105 (RPG) but it seems that IN105 also has an interactive element. Can anyone help ???
