This is similar to what we have done. We created a program that is a modified version of OE347 that provides the parameters that would normally come from the invoice print prompt screen. We submit the jobs via the AS/400 job schedule using EXCAMTASK commands. The first invoice job generates invoices with no post to A/R, the second invoice job generates credit notes with no post to A/R, we then execute a job to send EDI invoices and finally we execute an invoice job that posts to A/R. We are on version 3.5.0 of JBA. -----Original Message----- From: Dan Thomas [mailto:DThomas@lpw-mdi.com] Sent: Wednesday, September 27, 2000 11:24 AM To: 'JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com' Subject: RE: MONTHEND ROUTINES Are you using Machine Manager? If so, are you setting up your full year's schedule in advance and how. I don't recall any capabilities other than specific days of each week. Does anyone else create invoices during the night? We've been doing this for 9 months now. We had to make mods to JBA for that also. Apparently the program writes some of the screen answers/parameters to OEP61 and the program deletes these records after each run. The effect was that invoices would get created, but they wouldn't get posted. We had to modify the program to not delete these. As you should already know the IN Close is the lynch pin to all of the closes... and we need to make sure all ten of our plants get closed on time and only closed once etc... So since you cannot use the 3/INC standard task to schedule the IN close in Machine Manager (no batch component to the task definition) we decided to have one of our creative programmers write a routine that would perform the close for us... We only do IN and SA automatically... We prefer to do the A/R, A/P, CS and G/L closes manually... This is an ugly situation and I wish JBA had written the Close so that it could be automated... While we do have a routine that we have written I would hesitate to share the code with the list since it is somewhat specific to our company... Good luck... We currently run IN, SA, AR & AP manually put are facing increasing problems with time scale and operational requirements. Thanks in advance.
