There is a tag control module written by JBA that is an "extra" product - not part of their base system.  JBA considers it a "mod" and was in use by other customers before we got it.  We just recently did our first P.I. on System 21 with this tag control module.  It's fairly straightforward to install and to use.  It does link up with System 21 cycle counting functionality.  Ask your account rep about the physical inventory tag control module.  The Novi, MI office provided it to us.

Subject: How to do a physical inventory?

We have recently installed JBA and are rapidly approaching the date of our first physical inventory after implementation.

Traditionally we have written inventory tags and then used MS Access to summarize them by part # and input them back into our old system.   Wondering how physical inventory is performed in JBA.   Specifically a few questions:

- Can individual tags be entered in JBA or only the gross totals by part number?
- Is there some sort of tolerance level to flag a recount?
- What function(s) is this done under?  Normal inventory adjustments?  31/INP (from memory)
