Mike and I were on the phone looking into this and at first I offered up the system resources hypothesis... The problem is intermittent and I naturally assumed that there might be several jobs hitting the processor (a 620) at the same time... Mike assured me that their system performance is not a problem... Then we took the command IPGAMP4/CHGCO and found the program it calls and did a DSPPGMREF *LIBL/XA339... We found several files that program uses... There was one that, upon closer examination, had an excessive number of records in it... Over 500,000 records in APG50PHY - 'User Current Company USER/APSR/APPL/RLSL/CUSC/CPFN'... I looked on my system and I only had about 1,000 records... My advise was to purge this file to eliminate all of these obviously old, useless records... Then see what happens... Mike is still at V3.5.0 so that may have something to do with it... There must be a purge routine that happens in AMDAYEND or CFDAYEND to clean up these records... I suspect that Mike is not running AMDAYEND or CFDAYEND and that might just clean up the problem for him, but I'm not positive... Hope this helps someone else as well... Thanks. At times it take 10 to 15 seconds. We find this unacceptable. Has anyone seen this problem? I do not see that it is system related. We had thought it was a file issue but can not get GEAC/JBA to give any information/help on the files used so that they may be reorged or cleared etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
