OK - We did have to do some customizing to get the Month End process to be
automated...
Sorry to have misled you that way... Yes that is a frustrating
roadblock...
Believe me, I spent an entire year of month-end Sunday nights doing it by
hand for 15 plants - that was my motivation for automating it...

I wish the developers would consider making the Inventory Month-end close
eligible to be run in Machine Manager without the need for a Bespoke mod...

We are probably not too far from typical in terms of what jobs we run at
Inventory Month-end close time...
Her is a list of the tasks we run... If all of these were also eligible to
run in MM we would be much happier... Some of them are already but some
are not...

   EXCAMTASK APPL(IN *N 03) TASK(1320) USERENV(&ENV) +
                CONO(&CONO) USER(&USERID) /* Month End Close */

   EXCAMTASK APPL(FI *N 03) TASK(0046) USERENV(&ENV) +
                CONO(&CONO) USER(&USERID) /* Inventory AFI Extract */

   EXCAMTASK APPL(PD *N 03) TASK(4615) USERENV(&ENV) +
                CONO(&CONO) USER(&USERID) /* Production AFI Extract */

   EXCAMTASK APPL(IN *N 03) TASK(1450) USERENV(&ENV) +
                CONO(&CONO) USER(&USERID) /* Stock Movements Valuation
report */

   EXCAMTASK APPL(IN *N 03) TASK(1460) USERENV(&ENV) +
                CONO(&CONO) USER(&USERID) /* Stock Movements Valuation
report */

     EXCAMTASK APPL(IN *N 03) TASK(1470) USERENV(&ENV) +
                  CONO(&CONO) USER(&USERID) /* Another Stock Movements
report */

     EXCAMTASK APPL(MJ *N 03) TASK(4150) USERENV(&ENV) +
                  CONO(&CONO) USER(&USERID) /* Stock Status & Valuation
report */

  EXCAMTASK APPL(SA *N 03) TASK(1210) USERENV(&ENV) +
               CONO(&CONO) USER(&USERID) /* Sales history update */

DLYJOB DLY(10) /* Delay long enough for 6/SAP to +
finish so Exclusivity lock is avoided... +
6/SAP has been modified to run in QINTER */

  EXCAMTASK APPL(SA *N 03) TASK(1180) USERENV(&ENV) +
               CONO(&CONO) USER(&USERID) /* Period end update */

Thanks.

For instance somebody stated that they were running month end procedures.
My month/week end inventory job is not a batch task until I first press F8.
We are a Style system 21 user on 3.5.2 with service pack 2 installed.

It really depends on what task you are trying to run...!
If your task does not actually perform any batch processing then you will
get this message:
Task is invalid: Task does not perform any Batch processing
I have seen some other strange things in there but can you site the
specific task...?
Is it standard product, and if so what version and service pack...?
Or is it one of your own custom tasks you're trying to run...?
Please advise...

I have wanted to use MM for more complex tasks and I am running into a
problem that it will not submit a job that requires the F8 key to be
pressed. How did you by pass that problem?
