I find it hard to believe that other companies are not seeing the same magnitude of problem we are. We have hundreds of employees in JBA all day long, many of them using Explorer. There are many things that can happen to cause the residual locks such as power outages, network connection failures, abnormal job terminations, etc. If they close the task via Explorer improperly, this also can cause problems. I would say that 98% of the time, we know why the jobs are terminating abnormally... these are caused by users closing Explorer sessions improperly or communication problems. -----Original Message----- From: Dan Thomas [mailto:DThomas@lpw-mdi.com] Sent: Wednesday, May 12, 1999 6:25 AM To: 'JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com' Subject: RE: JBA System/21 Record Locking We occassionally have problems with this, but not very often. The obvious question is "Why are jobs terminated abnormally?". > -----Original Message----- > From: Jim Sehi [SMTP:jsehi@hach.com] > Sent: Tuesday, May 11, 1999 1:19 PM > To: 'JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com' > Subject: JBA System/21 Record Locking > > We have recently (within that last 2 weeks) implemented JBA System/21 > 3.5.0 > and are experiencing some severe problems regarding record locking.
