Jim Sehi originally reported this problem and I have confirmed it.  If
you do a customer return for an item that was originally invoiced at a
price of zero (free), the item is credited at customers normal price.
This is occurring as part of the invoice printing process.  If you
inquire on the credit before printing, it shows a price of zero.  We are
on release 3.5.0.
