What I find somewhat amazing, or alarming, is that these types of problems can't help but be issues at many, if not all other sites because of the JBA Environment forced upon the machine. There ought to be a clear concise answer about this from JBA, available to all customers, without charge or requiring an inordinate amount of effort getting it. During a recent initial meeting of JBA Midwest Users, one of the highest priority requests of, and promised by JBA to be listened to, was that concerning a customer website. It was requested that JBA populate an FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) database. I hope these types of questions and answers to them will be available this way. In the meantime, please "publish" the answer so others can benefit from it. : ) Randall I. Smith OMRON Electronics, Inc. randy_smith@omron.com I sent the email below to our JBA account representative. Has anyone had trouble with this very same problem, and if so, what did you do about it? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is your reminder to forward this question on to others in an attempt to resolve it... I have noticed that various jobs within the JBA System/21 product are being submitted with different job priorities. We have experienced jobs that are never run.. or are run much later in the day because the job queue is generally pretty full. If the job you are submitting is submitted at JOBPTY(5), other jobs may preempt the run of your job because the job queue is constantly reshuffled depending on job priority. For example, I submit program 21/AIS. This job is submitted at JOBPTY(3) even though the job in the job queue is pointing to job description IPGAMP4/IPGAMP which has a JOBPTY(5). My user profile points to QGPL/QDFTJOBD which is set to JOBPTY(6). 1. I'm confused about how job priorities are assigned, please explain. 2. There doesn't seem to be a way to control these priorities to ensure that all jobs are submitted with the same JOBPTY.
