I am interested in hearing about any productivity tools other JBA users
have used to enhance their package software. We have a need for
extensive modifications to existing programs, plus many additional
reports and batch update programs. We are considering ProGen Plus from
BCD and GeneXus from ARSystems. We have purchased JBA Objects (report
writer) but have not received our training yet. I'm curious if anyone
is using this tool for reports against files with a large number of
records. I'm concerned about WAN users since this is a Client/Server
reporting tool using ODBC. We also received JBA Corporate Components
and Constructor. Supposedly Corporate Components helps you manage
program mods so they can be more easily incorporated into new releases
of the software. Constructor is the "tool of the future" that is
supposed to let you knit together business components. If Corporate
Components isn't "up to snuff" we would consider some other 3rd party
change management tool.
