I don't know, but the poster sure thought the guy was being serious.
Serious enough that the company lost a customer to PayPal.
And you wouldn't expect him to have the authority to make that decision, so
upper management may have thought it a serious request too.
But if it is a hacker, isn't that more than a little ironic if he has
managed to use an email address from a security firm and be able to have
email replies get back to him?
