Experts Guide to OS/400 & i5/OS Security
by Carol Woodbury and Patrick Botz
29th Street Press (489 pages)

There is the IBM Information Center online, and I beleive the Security Reference manual is both online and can be ordered. http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/ Also, there have been many Redbooks over the years on Security (if you are not familiar - these are a great resource http://publib-b.boulder.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/portals/iseries

I would suggest you get your company to send you to the next Common Conference www.common.org this fall - many sessions on Security (as well as everything else iSeries..)
or the IBM iSeries Technical Conference

Subject: [Security400] BASIC SECURITY OFFICER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Hello all,

We are relatively new to the iSeries - migrating from an HP 3000
machine, and I am the Security Officer for a small group of developers
and account managers for a service beareau company. I have been dubbed
the 'Security Officer' unofficially, in addition to my 'Software
Engineer' title, and would like to define this role more officially.
Does anybody have suggestions as to what the normal functions and duties
of an iSeries security officer are? Any books, articles, publications,
etc would be helpful.

Thanks,

Adrienne McConnon
