John, this is fairly easy to do.  You just have to make sure your existing
system is ready.

First make sure you have the correct version on LIC installed, see APAR

Mostly it amounts to making sure you have the correct LIC and doing a full
save 21 and a scratch restore.
You will lose spool files but not the rest of the data. One command to look
into is RTVSYSINF and UPDSYSINF
