First of all, thanks for tips on using updsrvpgm. I'll
try what you suggested. I'm pretty sure the problem is
with the binder source. 
Regarding what Aaron said about ROI, I've been
thinking about that and there's no way that I can go
back and retrofit old apps, but I think I will start
building the beans for files and use it for new
development. I'm in the process of writing a new
application right now where the specifications come
from a government agency, and they have a
disconcerting tendency to change the specs in the
middle of a project. So I can see how the beans could
help, and having the bean creator would make life a
whole lot better.
