The following enhancements are available with PTFs:

- New date formats *DMYY, *MDYY, *YYMD, similar to *EUR, *USA, *ISO, but the new formats allow all the usual separators. They can't be used for definitions; they can only be used with %CHAR, %DATE, %DEC, MOVE, MOVEL, TEST.

- Implicit CCSID conversion for the string built-in functions.

dcl-s name varchar(25) ccsid(*utf8);
p = %scan('.' : name); // Formerly not allowed (different CCSIDs)

- Diagnostic messages in the compiler give the whole name (up to 100 characters)
For this line:
5 if medication_dose > max_dose(medication_type);

Before, the error message would be
RNF7030 The name or indicator MEDICAT... is not defined.
Now, the error message is
RNF7030 The name or indicator MEDICATION_DOSE is not defined.

PTFs:
7.5 TGTRLS(*CURRENT): 5770WDS SJ08064
7.6 TGTRLS(*CURRENT): 5770WDS SJ08065
7.6 TGTRLS(V7R5M0): 5770WDS SJ08092

The enhancement to define a variable like an enum is not available yet. There will be later PTFs.
