No worries I was able to patch it together. I made another post with some
questions about %handler and more complex XML

I'll try and find it Art but the links via various magazines that should
take me to it are all broken!

Sorry Jon I've been able to get everything to work.

I'm expecting to get an XML file that is too big to process and I'm
trying
to learn about %Handler. I've been reading your presentation
https://www.tug.ca/MoMHandouts/2021-09-22/intofamily.pdf

Do you have a link for the complete %handler example? Thank you

Art

First thing you should change is to remove allowmissing. That way the
compiler will issue messages telling you where the error is. Only use
it if
you have to becuase there are too many optional elements to make it
viable
without it.

There may be a bug in the compiler as I note that when I make the names
match (i.e. both DS and XML doc use GIII-XML) the compiler errors out
the
XML-INTO which it shouldn't as best I can tell.

I have not been able to duplicate your situation as the section of XML
you
provided starts:
<XML>
<ControlArea>

As a minimum, it should be:

<?XML?>
And something else here - is this where the GIII-XML element is supposed
to be?
<ControlArea>
