I remember when graduating to the AS/400 from the S/36 and discovering OPNQRYF - mind *blown*. I seem to recall there was a huge learning curve with the syntax; like coding numeric literals??? It's been too long, and I don't miss it.
Then SQL came along - mind *blown* #2. STRSQL was my first exposure to SQL.

True. I haven't seen or heard of using OPNQRYF for years and when I saw this email come through it was quite a flashback! I used it a TON before SQL.
