You can easily use the C-Library sleep call for that:

Keep in mind that hard timers are easiest "synchronization" to program, but the least clever solution. Either the machine is wasting time doing nothing, or the timer runs off too early because for some reason, the wait-for job needs more time — for whatever reason.
