Re: F-spec Input & File Addition

My main experience on doing so, was that I was not seeing the
output records for some time, and it is, I believe, because of the number
or records that are first buffered in memory before they are written out to
disk. When I added the IF spec with addition, I saw that records were
visible instantly. I think this is because you may need to CHAIN on any and
that one should be readily available. Opinion, not sure, but it worked.

Yes, sometimes. Not that often but accumulating history but without the
extra effort for system logging of file changes, is one example. Some
tables could well be best maintained that way in one program, with purges
or "trimming" done elsewhere.
