My five cents.

I have successfully used D*B ARDGATE too. Easy to install and use and
Dieter helped me with a couple of issues I had at the beginning.

Anyway, in another case I used RestAPIs to send data to a server. I mean, I
don't know much about a MySQL Server, but it might expose some APIs to
communicate with it. Then, from an RPG program you can use embedded SQL or
other techniques to send data using those APIs.

... for bulk transfer the load/unload variant (CPYTOIMPF - transferring a
csv - load) mostly would be the most eficient. Loading with LOAD DATA
INFILE
could be strated by sending a prepare/ execute or an execute immediate via
SQL. Using ArdGate you could think about synchronizing in real time record
by record as the source application creates/updates the soure tables using
embedded sql from your rpg/cobol or whatever programms - ist very flexible.
Using mysqlimport you wouldn't need to deal with SQL, it could be fired by
any remote execution method.
