From the announcement they are discontinuing support for those products for
all of IBM i 7.5, 7.4, 7.3, 7.2
Let's say IBM comes up with some new licensing scheme. And rolls out PTFs
to support it. And decides that, since they are no longer supported, they
can just let those options be flagged as not licensed and no longer work.
Or IBM determines those particular options use some obscure version of
wcode or some such thing. And IBM also determines they are the only
products which use that. And also determines that has security leaks or
some such thing and simply removes it with a PTF.
