It sounds like you are using DATA-INTO with case=convert... so the DATA-INTO opcode (this part isn't handled by YAJL) is converting _id into just id, therefore they are both mapped to the same field.   Depending on your document, you may be able to use case=any or case=lower instead.

If you call YAJL routines directly instead of using DATA-INTO, this would be a non-issue.

If you can't use case=any/lower for your needs, I could potentially make a small change to YAJLINTO that adds a prefix onto keys that start with the _ character so that RPG doesn't just strip it off.

Hi,

I need to parse an incoming JSON string which has a field name "_id" and
another field name "id" among other fields.

I have defined only "id" in my data structure and am using
"allowextra=yes", hoping that it will ignore the field "_id". But my "id"
field gets populated with the value of "_id" field.

Is there any way I can get what I need without changing the incoming string?

TIA
Vinay
