First off this has nothing to do with IWS..,

I developed a webservice api framework a few years ago that really shines in areas like this.

An sqlrpgle pgm sits between Apache and my sqlrpgle webservice pgms. It handles a the http stuff.

Because of that I can test any of them locally but it’s also easy to debug remote requests as well.

The request and response jsons get logged along with the cgi job name. So just find the last api transaction and tell it to start a service job and debug the associated webservice pgm. The next off platform request triggers the debug.

There ARE ways other than IWS to implement and IBM i api webservice framework, which can give you a whole lot more flexibility, especially if you know the IBM i architecture well.

Maybe this will help. I've debugged web service programs using this with no problems....

Subject: How to debug a webservice? (RPGLE on IWS)

CAUTION: This email originated from outside the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe.

Hello all experts.
I installed my webservice on the https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__IWS.It&d=DwICAg&c=euGZstcaTDllvimEN8b7jXrwqOf-v5A_CdpgnVfiiMM&r=vF4eKo1sCTNheR-l4fvgsym5TnbK2eSWXvTFhdOktpI&m=aOFacQL6OkeBC5K-ai_EE7J6cg_jXzb9tlICWbo1tco&s=7PE0UZ_Celoe0t7aSovVXintfj1XlqAsh-YrZxOvz4U&e='s an RPGLE program.
How can i debug it?
In RDi (9.6.0.12) i define a Service Entry Point (SEP), specifying the userid as defined in the webservice. When i test the webservice (with SOAP), the SEP never activates.I also tried defining the SEP with my userid, the userids the servers run (QH.....) to no avail.
What do i miss?
Thank you very much for hints!Best regards from Switzerland, Martin Neugebauer
