I've always had MQ Server installed on the IBM i...

But it does appear that IBM offers a stand-a-lone IBM i MQ client.

I don't believe that there's a cost to the client, but it should be easy to
confirm.

In my 30+ years coding in RPG I've never dealt with MQ. The samples
don't look difficult but I'm having trouble determining what licenses

Is the full IBM MQ license necessary if just coding a client?
What licensed programs are required to use it on the IBM i?
Any suggestions outside of RPG, off the IBM i?
