This is definitely worth a thought - just like simply using

DECLARE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE

which you can use with SQL and dispose when it’s not needed anymore.

Sometimes the performance gain of using an in-memory structure isn’t worth the effort to do so.

There are some implementations f. e. from Thomas Raddatz (Basics service program), Dieter Bender (Vector service program) and from myself (Linked List, Arraylist, libtree (which is only a wrapper from me for a tree c project).
