Hi Jon

Just curious for the intermediate calculation what precision is used ?
(Not that it would make much difference unless zero decimal places)

Cheers

Don

RPG rules are the same as COBOL.

In COBOL, the precedence of math operators is PEDMAS:
*() ** / * + -*

In RPG, multiplication and division have equal precedence, so the first
encountered is the first executed

Both of these should give 4:
7 * (4 / 7)
7 * 4 / 7

RPG gives 3 and 4 as the result. I assume it has something to do with
intermediate result variables, but I can't see how. Can someone
explain?
