John,

Sorry. I was out on vacation last week. I'm not sure I understand what you are asking... the link below didn't work for me.

I can tell you that it is a real chore getting setup as a Seller (before you even begin the API work). You must provide some kind of proof of identity. I know our owner had to submit copies of his driver's license and some other form of ID.

Ironic, since they treat PII like top secret government data (LOL).

I can't recall much more than that - we setup 6 years ago. Amazon has an "upgrade path" to use the new API, so we don't need to go through that again.

HTH,
Greg

Oggetto: RE: [EXTERNAL] Amazon Marketplace Api rest Web Services

Funny that you posted this. We've been using the older Amazon MWS API for quite a few years. Got an email earlier this year that we have to switch over to the SP-API (REST API). Hopefully the authentication is a bit easier than it was with the older API - you had to calculate the MD5 hash for every exchange (I had a lot of help with this).

We use it to get orders for fulfillment, update orders once they've shipped, and update stock levels. We do not use it to publish item data (other that stock availability).

I was just reading about the new API and was going to post to see if anyone had tackled it yet.

Brad - it does use OAuth 2 and refresh tokens. A Restricted Data Token (RDT) is required to access PII (i.e. name and address for orders).
https://developer-docs.amazon.com/amazon-business/docs/generate-refresh-token

I'm hoping we can do this without some sort of external URI.

I've also seen something called Order Desk - I'm not sure what all it does. But there's a way to extract orders in CSV or via a REST API.
