Certainly the 5250 emulations (also printer) will work at V5R4.
The other functions in ACS are dependent on the host server that's
running. Many things will work as intended, some won't since those host
servers have changed in the last 16 years (since availability)

We regularly connect with V5R4 systems and are able to do most things. The
hard part is remembering how we did things back to 2006 and the lack of SQL
interfaces to system information.
