I understand SQL is doing the work, and I think we could use SQL in a stored procedure to consume a REST API. I was just thinking about cases where we might want to consume an API from an existing RPG or COBOL program. For example, it might be handy to consume a REST API to get a bit of data for an interactive RPG or COBOL program, assuming we can convert the programs to use embedded SQL for this.
