I wrote a parser in RPG that can return a data structure for each "node"
encountered in a JSON document. The data structure contains:
Node Type (o=object, a=array, n=name, v=value)
Node Path (descriptive hierarchical path)
Node Sequence (1 through ...)
Node Nesting Level (in the hierarchical tree; 1 through ...)
Node Start (The position in the document where the node begins)
Node Length (The length of name and value node, or the number of elements
in object and array nodes)
Node Value
One could easily write an RPG utility interface for registering and
invoking callback procedures for each node encountered in a document.
The following is a utility that produces a report from any JSON source, as
an example:

JSON utilities may be useful as an alternative to requiring programmers to
know the content of JSON documents prior to writing code to invoke the
"find" and "get" calls under tree-mode processing.
