Try generating just the request.item array (with %SUBARR to limit the
number of elements):
DATA-GEN %SUBARR(request.item : 1 : request.num_item)
%DATA(jsonBody: 'output=clear countprefix=num_')
%GEN('YAJLDTAGEN');
