It's not that complicated...it's not SQL DDL vs DDS that matters.

Regardless of how a *FILE object is created
- you can read it sequentially.
- you can position by RRN
- If the *FILE object is keyed, then you can also position/read by KEY

An SQL Table can be keyed or not keyed.
An SQL View is never keyed
An SQL Index is always keyed.

The only other caveat is that an SQL view could be using aggregate
functions or joins that would prevent DELETE/UPDATE/WRITE.
But IIRC, you could build a DDS LF that also can't be written to.
