I'm jumping in here without looking at the thread so far, so maybe my comment has been stated already.

We do need particulars, as you said, Patrik, to know how to respond here.

Anyhow, shared access paths and PFs - I just created a PF that has a key and an LF that has a subset of that key - the LF was created with implicit sharing, so PFs can matter, I believe.

Now I don't know what sharing has to do with JOINs, so more info is needed.

Cheers
Vern

We have a situation where the we have a join LF that is not finding records
on a chain.

There are 2 keys, Key 1 exists in the primary PF only and the Key 2 is also
the join.
AFAIK, keys in PFs don't matter if you deal with logicals.

Hopefully, someone can shed some light on the issue?
Please shed some light about details first. The more, the better. You might take my ZIP archive contents mentioned in my postings from last weekend on Midrange-L as a reference. There I also had an issue with LFs I was checking against with SQL.

Help us to help you. Provide example input. Provide desired output. Without examples, your code fragments to Alan don't help (me) to understand.
