I have used SQL-CLI In noxDB to bring relational data into the object graph
and it gives you the opportunity to create generic functions or API’s.

In the new version of noxDb that is all UTF8 I use a quite nice feature in
SQL-CLI wher you set the connection into UTF8 mode so all SQL statements
and data goes back and forth in UTF8 releasing me for lot of conversion
headaches

I don't know a link, but I did use CLI to advantage - you are able to
have more than one cursor open at a time, each time you allocate a
statement (I think, it's been awhile), you can get the cursor the system
is using. There is an SQLGetCursorName function that I think was
helpful. In other words, you can multiple cursors active on the same table.

I wonder where you heard that performance would be poorer, I'm
interested to learn about that, if it's true.

Cheers
Vern
