In case anyone else comes this way, just thought I'd say that the YAJL
solution works fine with V7R1

The OP is on IBMi 7.1, so although DATA-GEN existed in 7.1, I do not thing
DATA-INTO was introduced until IBMi 7.2 ...?? :-o
Hence, the need for other tooling like NOXDB ...?

solution? Is it an easy solution to implement?
Is there any way of estimating the effect on the response times if we
were to convert the JSON to XML? That would mean 4 conversions of the
data from XML to JSON and back.

YAJLINTO and YAJLDTAGEN are the data-into and data-gen programs,
respectively.

YAJLGEN is a bit older and serves a different purpose -- it generates
RPG data structure definitions that match a JSON file.
